If you actually go through the surveys and offers, could you get a free iPod?

Here's the deal. We've all seen ads on websites that tell you you could win a free iPod (Or something similar.)

What I want to know is that if you were to actually go through the surveys and maybe sign up for one or two things, will they end up mailing you one? Or are they just scamming?

If you actually go through the surveys and offers, could you get a free iPod?
First, I have known people who have gotten the advertised products for going through this program. Generally, the requirement is to sign up for an offer, PLUS ensure that X number of people ALSO sign up for an offer. It's basic multi-level marketing.

The people I know who were successful had to constantly follow up to get the free product and it took them weeks (months!) to get the item. One friend got the Old Navy gift card and it took her 6 months to get the item, even after everyone signed up.

It is legitimate, but often more trouble than it's worth, in my opinion.

By the way, once in my ignorance, I tried to win the iPod via this system, too. I got people to sign up and then they rejected 3-4 of my referrals because they had the same last name (they were family members). They accused me of making people up. So, they invalidated my entire submittal.

Good luck!

Reply:I got a free Shuffle by joining audible.com for 6 months. I like downloading the books and I was a member for several years.
Reply:No one's going to give you something that cost $400 for doing almost nothing.
Reply:do contests online. I won one that way
Reply:NOOOO OMG U DONT EVEN KNW!!
Reply:I've been looking for the abominable snowman as well.
Reply:its got scam written all over it
Reply:From what I've heard: It is more likely that you'll die waiting the iPod than that you will receive it within, say, six months. And it is extremely unlikely that you will receive it at all.

However, it is almost a certain fact that you will receive tons of spam, and that you will definitely waste a whole bunch of time.
