How do I make money doing surveys online?

I've been trying for about a month, but all i ever get it emails trying to get me to buy something and they will pay me a dollar for buying it. or i get a sight where i need to buy yet another database. is anyone really making money or are they all just scams, i'm tired of searching and getting a bunch of junk e-mail. Only give me stuff that really works, not just another site to sign up for points.

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.





Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.





Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

Reply:Forget it and run away from that mess. I tried it and it was fun. I got a free calculator, some samples and about $25.00 for hours and hours and hours and hours. Not worth it. Not to mention about 500 junk mails a day and after 3 years lots of hidden worms that finally ate my computer go join pogo instead and play games. Look them up on the net to determine scams.

I have only found one legitimate work at home site so far, and I made $494+ in October and over $700 in November. But it did take a bit of work initially--I added referrals--and the money got better. And I believe my earnings will continue to grow.





I started by answering surveys on CashCrate and filling out some free offers and received a real check from them. For example, I signed up for E-bay and made a bid and got paid $8.00. And there are no fees to join. It is totally free. So I made a little my first month with them.

But once I found out this site was legit, I started adding referrals. For every person you refer, you get 20% of what they earn. And for every person that one of your referrals refer to CashCrate, you get 10%. It may take some time to build up the number of referrals necessary to make a lot of money, but in time--this could be a great source of income--making money while other people are in a sense, working for you.





And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.





Note: There are not many offers on this site for users outside of the USA (there quite a few offers for Canadian users though). But if you are in another country, you could still refer users from the USA to CashCrate and make money on those referrals.

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc.





There are others out there. Be careful though, as you have found out, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid (basically, if they mention that you will be doing anything but taking surveys, stay away).





Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Reply:I'm about ready to discontinue my ties w/ the online surveys. Time consuming and dont really pay much for all of that time wasted qualifying for the survey and then when you do qualify it took s forever.
