It pays kinda cheap-extra pocket money...but all you do is fill out those stupid surveys. You get a check once a month and its free to do. Reply:Don't do it, what you'll get is several tons of spam. If you must try, use Google to look for "survey". They will want you to sign up then send you surveys at least every week as well as selling your e-mail address. There are a whole bunch of sites that claim to do this, usually it's just a bunch of advertising.

I can tell you've already been doing some research on paid survey sites because you've already found that most are scams.

I don't even know how many sites I signed up for before I started making some REAL MONEY online completing surveys. Probably hundreds or more.

I even blew a few hundred bucks signing up at those membership sites that promise the world and deliver just about NOTHING. Usually just some outdated list of survey sites or worse!

Remember, a survey site should never be asking you for money. Your information is VALUABLE to them and they should be paying YOU for it.

Infact, your personal information is so valuable that a lot of so called paid survey sites are just a cover for collecting your personal information to resell to other companies!

I know how frustrating it can be to try to make money online. The fact is, most people make money online by RIPPING OFF other people! That's why when you try to find information on making money online everyone's got their hands out.

It's a very lucrative industry because of how desperate people can be to make money online and how few free resources actually exist.

That's why at http://www.surveysthatpaid.com I've setup a list of 100% FREE to join legitimate paid survey sites. I have ONLY included the sites I have personally received a payment from.

There are definately a bunch out there that are not scams. I've been using them for a little over 2 years now, and I have been paid (have pics of the checks and paypal to prove it). One thing to remember with paid surveys is the more sites you join, the more invites you get and the more money you will make. Survey's are not what you think. They require a lot of time, and you won't make what they claim you will. A couple of my friends did a six month test on several different survey sites like Survey Savvy, Harris Poll, Greenfield, Opinion Outpost, Survey Sport, Buzzback, NPD online, Lightspeed Panel, African American, Your2Cents, Project Payday, Inboxdollar, SnapDollars,Send Earnings, Creation, mycoke rewards, E-poll etc. Each did some the same sites and some different sites. Totaling at least 15 - 20 a piece. They're not what people say they are. Yes they are easy to do and you can receive money and prizes, compensating you for your time and effort. So they're not a scam. They're very time consuming though. When you add the time together, It's more time then you think! If you do decide to get into surveying, you better plan on spending 8 to 10 hours a day and make minimum wage. Sometimes you will hit good surveys that will pay you a lot, but what's required to get that is amount, the calculations of the time involved, and what you got paid in these "higher" paying surveys, still only averages out to minimum wage. It's a psychological thing because the time is spread out on these, so it doesn't seem to be as long as it really is. But we did the documentation's and figured the time vs money factor. We found that there was more time with little money to be made.

Here's how the survey's work. You spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes per each site to register and set up a profile to qualify for surveys. (this is non paid). To make anything really work, you need to register for at least 14 different ones, and make sure non are related to each other. Then you'll start receiving emails for surveys. Each survey you have to complete a 15 to 20 minute "pre-qualifying" survey, after you were already told you qualified based on your profile (you don't get paid for this) Then if you do qualify for a survey (which majority of the ones you don't qualify for. so you've wasted this 15 to 20 minutes and sometimes longer of non paid time.) Then if you don't qualify for one, they offer another and you have to do the same thing, and the same thing happens.) You waste approximately 45 minutes to an hour until you finally qualify for a survey. You take a 30 to 45 minute survey and make normally $1 to $3 a survey that they claim takes 15 minutes. Or instead of money, you earn "points" which later on can be exchanged for money or prizes. You have to earn enough points to make $10. That's not including the 15 minute pre qualifying survey, that you had to repeatedly do prior to land this survey. So you've now spent thirty minutes to an hour and made $3 or a few points. And the process between each of the survey sites is the same. So you can pretty much do the math. It averages out to be between $2 to $6 an hour. Sometimes you do come across a survey that will pay you $25 to $75 a survey, BUT there's A LOT more to it then what meets the eye on that as well.

Here's how the larger pay out survey's work. It could be a telephone survey or a Internet survey. You get the pre qualifying part of 10 to 20 minutes then if you qualify for it another 15 to 30 minute survey or a telephone survey about the product your about to try to see if you qualify to try it. Even though you took a 10 to 20 minute "pre qualifying survey" that said you qualify for. When you qualify for it, they send you a product out to try for 7 to 10 days and you do some daily documentation's on it. Depending on what the product is and the documentation's it's usually 5 - 15 minutes each daily documentation. (you got a free product to use around the house, this is a good part of it) after trying the product out you have to complete another survey that takes between 15 to 30 minutes to do. Now you do the calculations on that. You don't get as many of these types of survey's. They use the hype on getting paid $25 to $75 dollars for 15 minute surveys. NOTICE THE PLURAL IN "SURVEYS" What they don't tell you is that there is more then one survey involved in these. Now calculate from your pre-qualifying survey to the next pre-qualifying survey from the company carrying the product, to the trial and documentation's, to the last survey on these products. Then you receive a check four weeks to six weeks later. Do the math, that's less then minimum wage!

Another way to earn money on survey sites, is to refer people over to the sites. Some survey sites will give you a percentage on what the people do after they've reached a curtain amount of points or obtained their first check (refer back to the top of what's involved) You either get a lot of points for this, and only one time and when you reach a curtain amount of points you can exchange it for cash or prizes. (Cash amount is usually $30 before you can cash out- do the math on how many pre-qualifying surveys and the surveys you get, the time involved etc this is what it takes to earn the $30) Other survey sites you complete shorter surveys (5 to 15 minutes) and your entered into sweepstakes or lottery things for prizes or money. "Lottery"-one winner out of all the people doing survey's. If you don't win, you lose your points.

Okay, I'm starting to write a book. I can go on about all the other types of survey's available and what was

involved in that if you'd like me to elaborate on it.

I do survey's because it does help the marketing on different products and they do use the opinions of what things look like and what not. So I do it for the principle of the matter. Don't do it for money, because you won't make a sufficient amount of money with this.

If you'd like some links to various survey's, feel free to email me and I'll send them over to you. You really have to register for a lot of different sites. The paid survey sites offer the same survey's as the non paying ones. You get the same type of prizes and some pay a little more money. Again calculation time. Calculate how much you "paid" into these sites and the time you put into it, (refer back to how the survey's work) and it calculates back to minimum wage. If your doing this to make a living off of, you will be disappointed. But just for some extra cash, it's a good source and like I said, the companies do document the feedback and use it to better advertise their products and in some cases come out with new products based on the input of the surveyors. If you want to work from home, (assuming this is why you want to do survey's) I suggest you start your own home based business. Not a home "job", they only pay minimum wage as well. I better not write a book on that right now on that as I' did on surveys LOL! There are so many different home based business to start up. Most home based business cost under $500 to start. They have the same income opportunity as traditional businesses without a lot of over head expenses and they are easier to run and manage.

Not knowing what you like to do, I'm not sure who to refer you over to and get information from. I can tell you what my husband and I have for the past 6 years and refer you over to my blog that I created on Home Based Businesses on my 360 page. Every single month these people pay these bills that they are going to every month anyway, we make a percentage. You get paid every single month for these services over and over again. This is a very profitable business to get involved in.

However, there ARE real legitimate paid survey sites and they pay- those are legit market research and paid survey companies who pay consumer's opinion.

There is a huge database of more than 400 legit survey companies. I’ve tried most of them and they really pay.

Reply:When I started earning money online, I started with online surveys. Yes, they're safe and yes, they really work. They don't make a lot of money, though, just a little extra here and there. Every site that I received surveys from was free to join. Some paid cash and others paid with points that were redeemable for cash and other gifts. I never tried the sites that you had to pay for, so I can't tell you whether or not those are reliable. If you want a list of the sites that I used, just let me know.
Reply:There are many survey websites that are legit, but there are even moe that are just scam. If they keep sending you e-mails about it, I would think that they are scams.

Another piece of advice, don't pay for those survey websites that offer you hundreds of survey websites. They are more concerned with quantity than quality. So naturally, there are bound to be quite a few scam surveys there.

I highly recommend that you create a new e-mail address when registering with any survey website. That way your main e-mail will not be effected if they really do sen you spam. Being someone who do surveys as well, I believe that it is a great way to make some extra money.

But do not get fooled into believing that you will get rich from it. It will make you some nice extra pocket money, but you are not going to live in luxury because of it. I will recommend the website I use. The website is free and it lists out the survey websites that are applicable according to your area.

Oh, and they don't all pay cash. Some pay by gifts and sweepstakes. It is not attractive as cash, but it is free and I believe that it is still worth the effort you are putting into it. Best of luck!

Also, don't pay for any list of survey firms, or to do surveys, that is always a sure sign of a scam

I have seen so much hype about getting "paid for your opinions" and blah, blah, blah. Is there really a website out there that pays people to fill out surveys? If so, how do you get your money?

Yes it is true. I have been paid a few dollars. Most companies just give you a chance at a draw or sweepstakes. Don't plan on making a career out of it as the paying surveys are few and far between. Also, don't pay for to join survey sites as all of the info you need is free on the net. Also watch out as I believe that some are scams trying to get your info to fill your in box. Anytime I have been paid - the company mailed me a check.
Reply:Yes - I was invited by an online polling outfit called Yougov to join their panel, and every time I get asked by them to complete a particular survey 50p gets paid into my account. When the amount paid in reaches £50 they send me a cheque in the post. It takes a long time and a lot of surveys to reach that magic moment, but so far I've received one cheque. I'm about a a third of the way to my next one.

Reply:I make 5-10$ here and there filling out surveys. No, it's not a full-time job. I doubt anyone lives off this. It's a fun quick and easy way to make a couple bucks here and there though :)

And yes, I've gotten checks for all of them. The company I use is called "Web Perspectives" and I only do the surveys that pay me - not the ones with a 1 in a 1000 chance of winning something (those are waste of time, unless you win, haha)

How do you feel about those personality surveys that can determine the fate of your career?

We have all done it. You see a job that you feel you would be perfect for. You submit your resume. You get past the initial screening. Next you receive the dreaded personality survey with the misleading, repetitive questions that will probably knock you out of the running for being among the remaining qualified candidates. We have to summarize complex answers into the confines of "strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree and strongly disagree"

Do you really think this is an accurate method for screening job candidate?

Also, does anyone have any particular techniques that they use when faced with these questions?

How do you feel about those personality surveys that can determine the fate of your career?
I don't think that they really help because they say one thing but what you can do is another... It is really what your heart says not what a piece of paper does...
Reply:I think a lot of people lie, but those surveys are just too long. I usually end up screwing up some of the questions because I am sick of reading them and don't read the question right.
Reply:Most of the time, you can predict the answer they want. You'd be surprised how many people answer "agree" to a question like "I have taken small items in the past, but would not take anything now." That alone shows you may lack integrity and might, if tempted, take something from your boss. You go in the "High Risk" or "RED FLAG" category and you'll not be hired.

Other questions are like "I tried drugs once, but I don't use them now." An honest Strongly Agree or Agree will tag you as a Potential Drug User and there you go again HIGH RISK.

The questionaires are a fairly accurate prediction of the way you will behave once you're an employee. While they may not seem so to you (that's the way they're designed to seem), they are very scientific questions based on past performance by individuals.

I was told that you should answer EVERYTHING either STRONGLY AGREE or esle STRONGLY DISAGREE.......there should not be any middle of the road. If you read the question and "think" they are looking for an agree answer, don't say "slightly agree" or "neither agree or disagree", you need to STRONGLY AGREE. Same thing if you think they are looking for a disagree answer.

Some examples of tests I have administered to job applicants:

I believe that low wages and poor living conditions can make an honest person take things sometimes. --Correct answer: strongly disagree. [Indicates if you would be inclined to steal if times got hard or if the opportunity was great enough]

There is no difference between smoking marajuana and drinking alcohol. --Correct answer: strongly disagree [Because marajuana is ILLEGAL and alcohol isn't--looking for your permissive attitude toward using drugs].

You should not publicaly expose a person who is caught stealing. --Correct answer: strongly disagree. [Seeing if you would be sympathetic to a thief and perhaps not tell on him]

I have been late to work in the past, but that is behind me now. --Correct answer: strongly disagree. [Looking for tardiness or attendance prone people]

Some workers know more than their supervisors. --Correct answer: strongly disagree. [Looking for how well you respect authority]

Each question is looking for a trait you possess. They are pretty reliable. If you always answer truthfully, you may not get the job. You have to play the game.

I joined a few and the only surveys I get are sweepstakes entries that I doubt are legit. I want to take the surveys that pay out cash. Has anyone found those?

I have earned arond $500 from Pinecone Research in the last 4 years ($5 per survey). They are very prompt in sending the checks. No point system, no raffles - just a $5 each and every survey

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

Reply:I've done some that pay you in points and they you turn in the points for prizes and cash (they are legit as I've received my goodies). There's also a survey company that does mail and internet surveys and I usually get between $1 and $5 for the mail surveys.

I haven't found any that pay a large amount of money.

I´ve tried alot of different ways to make money online over the past "painful" 2 years and theres alot of crap out there that just doesn´t work, it´s amazing how they can keep getting awy with it! Now after soooo many disappointments I´m using Data Entry Pro and it´s now making me money (finally!) online.

Anyway, basically you sign up with them and then once your logged in you just fill in as many forms as you like in their members section and you get paid for each one. Surveys benefit people like you and me because we get rewarded for completing them. We can have muliple accounts with the same survey site and lie through our teeth as much as we want. We can randomly click away without even knowing or caring which company we're defrauding.

The costs of rolling out a new (or a new-and-improved [supposedly!]) product can be astronomical. Make one mistake, and your investment in the new product is wiped out. So it's far, far better to make a smaller investment to test-market a product first, before doing a huge regional or national product roll-out and potentially having it bomb.

As to your question about falsifying answers: It's difficult for someone who's clicking away, just posting bullsh*t, to also write CONSISTENT bullsh*t. (I mean, if you're going to be consistent, then why not just write what you really think--makes sense, no? Why try to be some big joke-meister, just 'cause you think it's "kewl"?) Computers pick up on "wack" answers, and those surveys get tossed out.

BTW, it's worthwhile to answer the question sincerely. When you do so, you often get to actually TEST OUT the product, in addition to getting paid whatever fee they're paying you to just fill out the survey. I've gotten free laundry detergent, steaks...lots of stuff, just for being a RELIABLE survey answerer.

I have discovered that there are a few places that will actually offer a little bit of money to fill out on-line surveys...but there is always a "catch."

Usually, you have to be extremely quick to respond...like the first 100 people, say...and even then, it offers a nominal amount, like five dollars. And finally, those paying surveys only happen sporadically, like once a month.

So, are there any sites that really offer real money for surveys?

There are many good online paid survey sites that pay you for surveys. You have to join each of them individually and you get survey invitations by email. Rewards for surveys vary from $1 to $20 or more. Many pay for each survey you take or give you points which you can redeem for cash at a particular level. Some of them enter you into sweepstakes.

All are free to join. The so called paid surveys which charge money like $35 for you to join are only databases of such free to join companies, which you have to join individually. But only 30 to 40 out of those 500 or so survey sites are really worth joining.

Pinecone is one of the best, paying $5 for each survey, but you have to find a banner to join . Some other good ones are:

In the 4 years I've been doing this I've only received one survey over $15 (a $30 survey which I didn't qualify for). I usually get about $20 a month combined from all the surveys I take from all the sites I'm signed up with.

But think about it...how long did it take you to take that $5 survey? 20 minutes? (That's the norm) If you get $5 for a 20 minute survey that's like getting paid $15 an hour--which is really not bad. But if that's not "real money" don't expect it (unless you happen to be in charge of purchasing at your company, or be in some rare demographic that a company has trouble finding people to take surveys in).

I know that there are millions of questions about this already but I felt the need to get fresh answers. I've been looking for ways to get some extra bucks online and I came across some sites that claim to pay you money for taking surveys. Some require a fee and some are completely free. I've "made" almost 10 dollars today from about 3 different free sites. Compared to what I had to do, 10 dollars really isn't a lot of money. They were kinda unorganized, spammy, took me to different sites and such, had to do alot for those 3 dollars!

Are there any legitimate sites (with little spam) that I can make a bit more for doing this? I have no problem with paying a registration fee if it promises what it claims--more money. I understand that grossing like 4000 a month is probably impossible but a couple hundred would help. Serious answers please, if you don't know anything, please don't bother even attempting to answer. This includes sites such as expressurvey or quickpaid survey etc. They encourage you to join their sites and upon membership, you'll receive your 1st survey. answering each will give you $5 to $15. and oh, btw, you have to purchase their self-tutorial kits first before you receive surveys. Kits cost up to $40. Are these sites legitimate? do they really pay you or are you just sending them money (through your purchase of their product first) for nothing?

Please don't think you are going to make money doing surveys.... ones you pay to join are no better than ones you can join for free. Most cases I found was that I would get half way through or to the end of a survey to find out I wasn't qualified...

Keep going in this direction and you are going to spend a lot of time, Money and effort... with no rewards.. Jut a piece of advice.... unless you are joining a business opportunity company ... DON'T send money... and UNLESS you can actually talk to someone before joining .... DON'T join.

If it sounds too good to be true...... you've heard the ending...

You can definitly make money taking online surveys, but it's difficult if not impossible to turn it into an actual job. I always tell people that if you'd like to SUPPLEMENT your income with online surveys, great, but if you'd like to REPLACE your current income by taking surveys, well, it's just not that easy.

Anyway, the good news is that there are plenty of places on the internet that will give you the information on what needs to be done in order for you to get started with surveys - all for free. I'll quickly outline it here:

1. Find a list of online survey companies you are interested in joining.

2. Double check to make sure they have privacy policies listed on their websites so that you understand how they are using your personal information.

3. Once that's clear, go ahead and register yourself as a panelist with the survey company.

4. Repeat for as many survey companies you would like to join.

5. Start checking your inbox for online survey invitations.

As you can see, nowhere does it say for you to pay a fee in order for you to get started. You might want to pay a few bucks in order to access giant listings of online survey companies, but that's purely optional. The best way to get started is to join the big survey panels out there and see how it goes for you. If you are happy with the number of survey invitations you receive, you might not wish to join any more panels. Of course, the opposite could be true for you as well.

Remember that if you are an honest panelist with online survey companies, you will be rewarded - spend the time to properly answer questions and you will be fairly compensated for your time.

I have never met anyone who made money doing surveys... I do see that someone else here says that they do... all I can say is 'beware'. There are more scams out there on the 'survey thing' than legit... more oft than not you will spend a great deal of time either waiting to receive a survey or get 30 minutes into one and find out you don't qualify for payment but "thanks for your input anyway'...

Reply:Well, if you want to get payed $1-5, and sometimes an occassionall $10 per survey, there are a lot of sites where you can do that. Even if you sign up for a whole bunch of these places though, you won't be able to qualify for enough to make an income or anywhere close. Higher payed surveys do exist, but are rare (I've been offered one $30 and one $35 survey in the 5 years I've been taking surveys--neither of which I qualified for. Never been offered more than that, and I am signed up with over 10 sites).

DO NOT pay to take surveys--generally, at best, these sites only refer you to free sites you could sign up for without paying anything (*that was from and article in Parents magazine--I've always had the oppinion that you don't pay to do a job for someone, so I have no personal experience with these).

You can't make too much off of it, but it can get you enough to pay for a tank of gas............you get 50 cents per survey and they email you with links you just click on and earn a few cents. The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

Online surveys can be a great source of income if you've got a few hours spare every week. There are many market research companies that send our surveys to people and, in return for your time, they'll give you a cash or gift reward.

I've had a few payments into Paypal and a few cheques come via post and, even though you won't rich from it, I recommend them if you have time.

However, one piece of advice that i can offer is - Don't pay for lists of market research companies. Why? Because they are available on the internet for free.

Sorry to disillusion you, but most of those sites are bogus. They are simply vehicles by which marketing companies glean consumer information on the pretext of offering you a reward. Odds are slim that you will ever get paid, receive a coupon or anything else.

If you go on those web sites, you will be asked for information about yourself, your media habits (what you watch on tv, what kind of music you listen to, what magazines you read, etc.), where you live, and all sorts of other personal questions. Then, the research company will compile all the answers from other people like you and sell the results to others.

If you want to get paid for your time, see if there are Market Research firms in your area that need participants for focus groups. These often pay between $50 and $100 for a couple hours of your time. Sometimes more.

It's easy to think this when 99% of the so called paid survey sites out there are just a scam.

Most paid survey sites are setup as a front for collecting people's personal information or to direct visitors to affiliate offers that only benefit the sites owner.

Survey's are not what you think. They require a lot of time, and you won't make what they claim you will. A couple of my friends did a six month test on several different survey sites like Survey Savvy, Harris Poll, Greenfield, Opinion Outpost, Survey Sport, Buzzback, NPD online, Lightspeed Panel, African American, Your2Cents, Project Payday, Inboxdollar, SnapDollars,Send Earnings, Creation, mycoke rewards, E-poll etc. Each did some the same sites and some different sites. Totaling at least 15 - 20 a piece. They're not what people say they are. Yes they are easy to do and you can receive money and prizes, compensating you for your time and effort. So they're not a scam. They're very time consuming though. When you add the time together, It's more time then you think! If you do decide to get into surveying, you better plan on spending 8 to 10 hours a day and make minimum wage. Sometimes you will hit good surveys that will pay you a lot, but what's required to get that is amount, the calculations of the time involved, and what you got paid in these "higher" paying surveys, still only averages out to minimum wage. It's a psychological thing because the time is spread out on these, so it doesn't seem to be as long as it really is. But we did the documentation's and figured the time vs money factor. We found that there was more time with little money to be made.

Here's how the survey's work. You spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes per each site to register and set up a profile to qualify for surveys. (this is non paid). To make anything really work, you need to register for at least 14 different ones, and make sure non are related to each other. Then you'll start receiving emails for surveys. Each survey you have to complete a 15 to 20 minute "pre-qualifying" survey, after you were already told you qualified based on your profile (you don't get paid for this) Then if you do qualify for a survey (which majority of the ones you don't qualify for. so you've wasted this 15 to 20 minutes and sometimes longer of non paid time.) Then if you don't qualify for one, they offer another and you have to do the same thing, and the same thing happens.) You waste approximately 45 minutes to an hour until you finally qualify for a survey. You take a 30 to 45 minute survey and make normally $1 to $3 a survey that they claim takes 15 minutes. Or instead of money, you earn "points" which later on can be exchanged for money or prizes. You have to earn enough points to make $10. That's not including the 15 minute pre qualifying survey, that you had to repeatedly do prior to land this survey. So you've now spent thirty minutes to an hour and made $3 or a few points. And the process between each of the survey sites is the same. So you can pretty much do the math. It averages out to be between $2 to $6 an hour. Sometimes you do come across a survey that will pay you $25 to $75 a survey, BUT there's A LOT more to it then what meets the eye on that as well.

Here's how the larger pay out survey's work. It could be a telephone survey or a Internet survey. You get the pre qualifying part of 10 to 20 minutes then if you qualify for it another 15 to 30 minute survey or a telephone survey about the product your about to try to see if you qualify to try it. Even though you took a 10 to 20 minute "pre qualifying survey" that said you qualify for. When you qualify for it, they send you a product out to try for 7 to 10 days and you do some daily documentation's on it. Depending on what the product is and the documentation's it's usually 5 - 15 minutes each daily documentation. (you got a free product to use around the house, this is a good part of it) after trying the product out you have to complete another survey that takes between 15 to 30 minutes to do. Now you do the calculations on that. You don't get as many of these types of survey's. They use the hype on getting paid $25 to $75 dollars for 15 minute surveys. NOTICE THE PLURAL IN "SURVEYS" What they don't tell you is that there is more then one survey involved in these. Now calculate from your pre-qualifying survey to the next pre-qualifying survey from the company carrying the product, to the trial and documentation's, to the last survey on these products. Then you receive a check four weeks to six weeks later. Do the math, that's less then minimum wage!

Another way to earn money on survey sites, is to refer people over to the sites. Some survey sites will give you a percentage on what the people do after they've reached a curtain amount of points or obtained their first check (refer back to the top of what's involved) You either get a lot of points for this, and only one time and when you reach a curtain amount of points you can exchange it for cash or prizes. (Cash amount is usually $30 before you can cash out- do the math on how many pre-qualifying surveys and the surveys you get, the time involved etc this is what it takes to earn the $30) Other survey sites you complete shorter surveys (5 to 15 minutes) and your entered into sweepstakes or lottery things for prizes or money. "Lottery"-one winner out of all the people doing survey's. If you don't win, you lose your points.

Okay, I'm starting to write a book. I can go on about all the other types of survey's available and what was

involved in that if you'd like me to elaborate on it.

I do survey's because it does help the marketing on different products and they do use the opinions of what things look like and what not. So I do it for the principle of the matter. Don't do it for money, because you won't make a sufficient amount of money with this.

If you'd like some links to various survey's, feel free to email me and I'll send them over to you. You really have to register for a lot of different sites. The paid survey sites offer the same survey's as the non paying ones. You get the same type of prizes and some pay a little more money. Again calculation time. Calculate how much you "paid" into these sites and the time you put into it, (refer back to how the survey's work) and it calculates back to minimum wage. If your doing this to make a living off of, you will be disappointed. If you want to work from home, (assuming this is why you want to do survey's) I suggest you start your own home based business. Not a home "job", they only pay minimum wage as well. I better not write a book on that right now on that as I' did on surveys LOL! There are so many different home based business to start up. Most home based business cost under $500 to start. They have the same income opportunity as traditional businesses without a lot of over head expenses and they are easier to run and manage.

Never join any sites that require a sign up fee as they are almost always scams.

I have been taking paid surveys for nearly a year now, it takes me around 10 minutes every second day, and I make about $80 - $100 a month which isn't bad for the amount of time it takes me.

Take a look at this page. I put it together to help my clients make some extra money, while at home on maternity leave. I'm a member of one company and yes, it does actually pay you money for taking surveys on line. Please read the page, since I explain how it works for me in there. And no, it will not cost you a penny. If any one ask you for money to "show" you how to take surveys on line... run away because all they want is to take your money away. All the legitimate survey companies will NOT charge you for becoming a member and participate in surveys. Is the people who knows these companies that want to ask you for money, in order to pass this info on to you.

By the time I got to the end of that one survey, they wanted me to buy something for $80 some dollars to get the $500 gift card I was working for. What a rip! Don't waste your time. I was told that I could get payed for taking surveys and reading emails and I thought what an easy way to make money. Well they won't send you a check until you make $20.00 and I made 15 cents in 3 months.

I work in tech support and people call me everyday and ask for help and I didn't score high enough like I want on customer surveys this month (scale of 1-10, 10 being the best). I need a customers opinion to improve my performance so I can get better survey scores. This affects my bonus, so please be honest, I'm tough, I can take it, but please be brief, I just need advice not your whole bad experience story (we all have those stories). Thank you for your honesty.

I also work in tech support so i know how it is.

I don't know about your job but at mine this is what they look for. Being polite, no long silences, If you have to look something up make pleasant conversation. also never tell the customer to do something ask them to. like "could you please unplug your cable box". Never leave them on hold for a long time 30 seconds is to long if you are still looking up something come back on the line. and ask if they would be able to hold longer. if not offer to call them back in a reasonable time frame and make sure you do. also just being friendly and polite. I try to build a rapport with my customers. and joke around with them.
Reply:Be as poliet as possible. And while dealing with them you might want to get something to squeeze or a pencil to draw with so you dont over react and blow up. Also, no matter what they do always try to act calm and collected and not affected by their behavior. It in the long run should help you. Maybe you should try to get them to calm them down a bit if they are on the brink of losing it so you can talk calmly without them yelling in your ear and you being forced to yell back.

Most people appreciate clear simple answers that don't make them feel like a fool. Try to establish a rapport with your customer so that you can solve their problem quickly and in a timely manner. All customers appreciate feeling like you are there just waiting for their call and they are the reason you got up today-to help them. So make sure that they hang up feeling that way. And smile while you talk. It translates itself over the phone and helps make a situation more bearable-because they wouldn't be calling if there wasn't a problem-but you are the guru there to make it all better so make them feel better too! It will work out in your favor!!

Go to www.bbb.org every site in the US that offers $ is a scam. Find out what organization tracks these type sites in the UK and be prepared to find out that most if not all are scams too. Only sign up for sites that specifically are noted not to be scams! According to Consumers Union any site that asks you for a fee up front should automatically be considered a scam.

I would like to know of a site that pays good money to take surveys (and surveys ONLY!!). I have tried many sites, but none work. I dont want to have to pay anything or join other companies and complete offers. I just want to make about $1,000 in how ever long it takes. Please dont tell me any sites unless you they fit the standards from expierence.

There are several survey sites that are legit, your not going to get rich doing them though. Do not give anyone your SSN there are lots of sites out there that are legit and they do not need this info from you. Nor do you have to pay to join. I am a member of several. The one I have had the most luck with is Lightspeed. They do not pay you cash you get points which can be converted into cash via pay pal. However, they send me the most surveys. And already twice now I have been asked to participate in a more extensive survey in which I was sent a palm pilot in the mail and asked to record certain daily activities. The ones I have completed offered a $50 incentive and that was in the form of a check in addition to the points I received for completing the initial survey. I have also done survey savy which has a great referral program if you know people who will join you get money for surveys they complete. I have also tried American Consumer Opinion. They pay by check in mail for all surveys, but I have not been able to complete many of their surveys. I recently joing surveyspot and it is great too - not all surveys pay money though, but you don't have to wait around for a email you can just go to the site everyday and fill out surveys.

Most sites pay a few dollars per survey completed (regardless of what anyone tells you) so its gonna take awhile to get to $1000 it is best to use several sites. You also need to be a regular email checker because if you don't respond to the survey fast enough they have met their quota.

I'm looking for a way to make a little extra money online.

I found several websites that offer "updated/ current" listings of market research companies that will pay for completed product surveys and participation in focus groups.

These sites cost about fifty bucks ,one time, to become a member, is it worth it? Can I really make some money, or is it just a scam?

Please answer if you have experience in this area, and let me know the pros and cons and details. If this is a real possibility then pls tell me the most reputable/reliable website to join.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I know many are scams but I'm hearing that there are a few out there that actually pay a nice little handfull. Of course the ones that say get $2,000 in a hour are scams and I'm not looking for a get rich quick thing; just a little side money that's easy. I need to earn some extra money and I read about online surveys and one of the sites that came out was american consumer. However, they ask so many questions and I am concern about the fraud or feak website.

Have you participated in any online surveys for extra cash? How sure is the site of American consumer opinion?
American Consumer Opinion is one of the only 2 sites I recommend.

They are legit. They don't give you many surveys to do though. I get paid $5 each time I do one, but it only happens about 6 times per year.

The other one I recommed is AW Surveys. You can find the link in my profile if you are interested. I currently make $50 per week with them.

What is the best paid online paid surveys?
If you are only going to do one, I would do ACOP (American Consumer Oppinion) because they pay fairly well ($5-15 usually) even though they don't send surveys extrememly frequently. But honestly, you need to sign up for several sites to get paid much. I usually get about $20 a month taking surveys and I'm signed up with over 10 sites.

I've reviewed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:

Reply:the one that's worked the best for me is Zoom panel. they send you different surveys and if you "pass", you get a certain amount of points. you can then trade in the points for stuff, like DVDs and radios, some jewelry. also you don't have to pay for any shipping or taxes on those things. another plus is that it's FREE to sign up. i also joined myview, but apparently they don't accept new members, and also the rewards are only about $3 at a time. :(

There is a site called volition.com. Go there and keep refreshing the page until Pine Cone research appears at the top. That's the only way to join their panel. You'll sign up with them, and they'll send you surveys from time to time. They always pay $3 each, and sometimes they'll ask if you'd like to try a product (I've tried soup, drinks, dishwashing fluid, etc...). It's a great place. I don't know about any other sites, but I do know that this one is legit and a good one to compliment any other sites you find! Good luck!

Little did they suspect that where the bills were coming from was going to be a bigger surprise than actually finding them in the closet.

As it turns out, the boy had been sending out, via E-mail, a type of "Report" to other E-mail addresses that he obtained off the Internet.

Everyday after school for the past 2 months, he had been doing this on his computer in his bedroom.

"I just got an E-mail one day and I figured what the heck, I put my name on it like the instructions said and I started sending it out", says the 15-year-old.

The E-mail letter he received had 5 names and addresses listed on it and contained instructions on how to send one $5 dollar bill to each person on the list.

Then delete the name and address at the bottom of the list (Report # 5) and move the other 4 names and addresses down one step,

finally adding your own name and address to the top of the list (Report # 1).

The letter goes on to state that you would receive several thousand dollars in five-dollar bills within 2 weeks

if you sent out the letter with your name and address at the top of the 5-address list.

"I get junk E-mail all the time, and really did not think it was going to work", the boy continues.

Within the first few days of sending out the E-mail,

the Post Office Box that his parents had gotten him for his video-game magazine subscriptions began to fill up

not with magazines, but envelopes containing $5 bills.

"About a week later I rode my bike down to the post office and my

Post Office Box had 1 magazine and about 300 envelopes stuffed in it."

Over the next few weeks, the boy continued sending out the E-mail.

"The five dollar bills just kept coming in and I just kept sorting them and stashing them in the closet,

I barely had time for my homework". He had also been riding his bike to several of the banks in his area

and exchanging the $5 bills for twenties, fifties and hundreds.

"I didn't want the banks to get suspicious so I kept riding to different banks with like five thousand at a time in my backpack.

I would usually tell the lady at the bank counter that my dad had sent me in to exchange the bills and he was outside waiting for me.

One time the lady gave me a really strange look and told me that she would not be able to do it for me and my dad would have to come in and do it,

but I just rode to the next bank down the street (laughs)."

Surprisingly, the boy did not have any reason to be afraid.

The reporting news team examined and investigated the so-called "chain-letter" the boy was sending out and found

that it was not a chain-letter at all. In fact, it was completely lawful according to United States Postal and Lottery Laws

which state; a product or service must be exchanged for funds received.

Every five-dollar bill that he received contained a little note that read, "Please send me report number xyz".

This simple note made the letter lawful because he was exchanging a service (A Report on how-to do something) for a five-dollar fee.

It's true. The boy legitimately earned $71,000.

You should print this, read it and read it again and again if necessary.

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I only know of 1 person that actually recieved these.... and she pretty much did them day and night when she was on bed rest.... what she recieved was not proportionate to what hse filled out....

she said most of the time as she was ending teh survey the windows "crashed."

All I know that people have gotten is spam in their email and mail boxes.

I recommend that if you do decide to participate, you make up a junk email address that you use ONLY for this.

After about 11 surveys, they tell you in order to qualify, you have to buy 2 things. Meanwhile, you will be receiving about 200 spam e-mails per day and spending an hour or so getting rid of them. If you do buy something, and give them your credit card number, you may find different $1.95 or so charges on it. They hope people do not look closely at their statement and will just pass over the small charges. It will take hours and hours to get them removed from your card plus you will need another e-mail address because the spam won't be blocked. Plus 99% odds you will not get any "free" prize. They will stall with every excuse in the book until you realize it will cost more to sue them than the prize is worth and just give up.

I use surveyspot.com I get paid anywhere from $2 to $8 per survey and sometimes I try products for a little more. I have received a couple checks from them. I am sure there are other worthy sites, but never pay money to take surveys, those are all ripoffs

However - you are only getting a percentage of the amount they are actually receiving, which is how they make money. With thousands of people doing surveys, they clean up not having to do anything.

Some keep current with payouts, some have screwed over their members and not paid them.

You need to be very careful. Do not sign up with one that charges you anything to be a member.

You can answer the question without spamming your sites here. Spamming and advertising your site violates the Answers TOS - and you will be reported as a violator - as well as turned in to your sponsor companies for violating their Anti-Spam policies.

Supposedly they want anonymous input on a product, well they don't need my social security number for that. I started to try cashcrate and when i got to the end of the survey, it wanted me to give my credit card# for a 7 day trial.

It wouldn't let me decline that part so I had to cancel the whole thing.

never trust those! surveys that say they'll pay you, yet ask for a payment are never legit. the best ones are www.greenfieldonline.com and pineconeresearch. however, with pinecone you can't automatically sign up..you have to either get lucky and find their banner to sign up or someone who is already a member has to send you a signup link. they pay you $5 a survey...so far i've made about $40. greenfield pays anywhere between $1 and $5, but they take a long time to send you your check

It also holds daily contests for members and also there's an area called cash zone where you type in words and when money...you win every time. It's great for somene who wants to work at home. As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I'm pretty sure you have to join their club. Huggies seem to put coupons in the Sunday paper more frequently than Pampers; however, I'd watch the Sunday coupon sections closely. P%26amp;G has one of their coupon saver books in our Sunday paper about once a month. Sometimes they'll have a Pampers coupon, other times it'll be Swipers or Splashers.

Buying a Sunday paper is well worth it for the amount of coupons you'll get.

Your not going to make a lot of money doing surveys. Defiantly not a thousand a month either. Survey's are not what you think. They require a lot of time, and you won't make what they claim you will. A couple of my friends did a six month test on several different survey sites like Survey Savvy, Harris Poll, Greenfield, Opinion Outpost, Survey Sport, Buzzback, NPD online, Lightspeed Panel, African American, Your2Cents, Project Payday, Inboxdollar, SnapDollars,Send Earnings, Creation, mycoke rewards, E-poll etc. Each did some the same sites and some different sites. Totaling at least 15 - 20 a piece. They're not what people say they are. Yes they are easy to do and you can receive money and prizes, compensating you for your time and effort. So they're not a scam. They're very time consuming though. When you add the time together, It's more time then you think! If you do decide to get into surveying, you better plan on spending 8 to 10 hours a day and make minimum wage. Sometimes you will hit good surveys that will pay you a lot, but what's required to get that is amount, the calculations of the time involved, and what you got paid in these "higher" paying surveys, still only averages out to minimum wage. It's a psychological thing because the time is spread out on these, so it doesn't seem to be as long as it really is. But we did the documentation's and figured the time vs money factor. We found that there was more time with little money to be made.

Here's how the survey's work. You spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes per each site to register and set up a profile to qualify for surveys. (this is non paid). To make anything really work, you need to register for at least 14 different ones, and make sure non are related to each other. Then you'll start receiving emails for surveys. Each survey you have to complete a 15 to 20 minute "pre-qualifying" survey, after you were already told you qualified based on your profile (you don't get paid for this) Then if you do qualify for a survey (which majority of the ones you don't qualify for. so you've wasted this 15 to 20 minutes and sometimes longer of non paid time.) Then if you don't qualify for one, they offer another and you have to do the same thing, and the same thing happens.) You waste approximately 45 minutes to an hour until you finally qualify for a survey. You take a 30 to 45 minute survey and make normally $1 to $3 a survey that they claim takes 15 minutes. Or instead of money, you earn "points" which later on can be exchanged for money or prizes. You have to earn enough points to make $10. That's not including the 15 minute pre qualifying survey, that you had to repeatedly do prior to land this survey. So you've now spent thirty minutes to an hour and made $3 or a few points. And the process between each of the survey sites is the same. So you can pretty much do the math. It averages out to be between $2 to $6 an hour. Sometimes you do come across a survey that will pay you $25 to $75 a survey, BUT there's A LOT more to it then what meets the eye on that as well.

Here's how the larger pay out survey's work. It could be a telephone survey or a Internet survey. You get the pre qualifying part of 10 to 20 minutes then if you qualify for it another 15 to 30 minute survey or a telephone survey about the product your about to try to see if you qualify to try it. Even though you took a 10 to 20 minute "pre qualifying survey" that said you qualify for. When you qualify for it, they send you a product out to try for 7 to 10 days and you do some daily documentation's on it. Depending on what the product is and the documentation's it's usually 5 - 15 minutes each daily documentation. (you got a free product to use around the house, this is a good part of it) after trying the product out you have to complete another survey that takes between 15 to 30 minutes to do. Now you do the calculations on that. You don't get as many of these types of survey's. They use the hype on getting paid $25 to $75 dollars for 15 minute surveys. NOTICE THE PLURAL IN "SURVEYS" What they don't tell you is that there is more then one survey involved in these. Now calculate from your pre-qualifying survey to the next pre-qualifying survey from the company carrying the product, to the trial and documentation's, to the last survey on these products. Then you receive a check four weeks to six weeks later. Do the math, that's less then minimum wage!

Another way to earn money on survey sites, is to refer people over to the sites. Some survey sites will give you a percentage on what the people do after they've reached a curtain amount of points or obtained their first check (refer back to the top of what's involved) You either get a lot of points for this, and only one time and when you reach a curtain amount of points you can exchange it for cash or prizes. (Cash amount is usually $30 before you can cash out- do the math on how many pre-qualifying surveys and the surveys you get, the time involved etc this is what it takes to earn the $30) Other survey sites you complete shorter surveys (5 to 15 minutes) and your entered into sweepstakes or lottery things for prizes or money. "Lottery"-one winner out of all the people doing survey's. If you don't win, you lose your points. So this is just the basic format on surveys. I can get into more depth about it if you would like.

Now, assuming you want to work from home, judging by wanting to do survey's, If you really want to work from home, I suggest you look into home jobs (they pay minimum wage),

or look into starting your own home based business. Plenty of options around for you. Most home based business cost under $500 to start. They have the same income opportunity as traditional business but don't have the overhead expenses. Just about everything you use in your home, becomes a tax write off. Your phones, cell phones, computers, electricity, Gas, car expenses etc etc. A good advantage to have a business and run it out of your home. There are a lot of options from child daycare centers, to telecommunication, travel , health industries etc. You name it it can be done from your home.

Here's a couple of examples of home based businesses:

The company we chose made the most since to us. A product that is and always will be in high demand. There are a lot of products and services out there that are good. We decided to partner up with this company because it was things that people will always use and pay for anyway, pretty much no matter what. We didn't have to worry if money became tight that they could easily run to the store and purchase on sale or be able to buy it at the dollar store. So, we got involved in the world's largest direct selling telecommunications service provider that was started back in 1993. It's now a 15 year old, world wide international company. With headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Charlotte, Amsterdam, Sydney and Montreal.

They have been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it's first five years. They are registered with the BBB as well.

They market in services people use every day and pay for anyway, like I had said. Services like Local and Long Distance telephones, Internet, Digital, video phones, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT%26amp;T, Sprint, Nextell, Altell etc as well. We save people money and make money at the same time. Every single month these people pay their bills, we make a percentage over and over again each month. A major funding resource for our non profit organization.

How many people do you know, or know of around the world that uses one or more of these services or products? . A lot of money involved in this industry and very simple to do.

Another example is in the candle industry. You can make all natural soy candles that have beautiful scents and don't create the soot that the parfine (forgive my spelling) create on the jars. Remember that no legitimate market research website will ask you for money for signing up....quite the contrary - legitimate online survey sites are willing to pay you for your opinions!

Firstly, look for a privacy policy before signing up with any online survey website. Browse through it quickly to see how the company you are signing up with uses your information. Next, look for memberships of market research associations, and the BBB. It's not 100% necessary for a survey site to have such accrediations, but it helps. Lastly, look for detailed contact information. A legitimate market research website won't hide anything from you - a physical address, phone number, etc.

You can make money taking online surveys, you just have to be careful. Do your research and you will be rewarded.

There are a lot of different things you can do from home. You have a few options to look into. a home job which pays minimum wage. But understand that after taxes your looking at your take home as below minimum wage. If this is sufficient amount of income, here's a couple websites that you can take a look at and apply for the job. I can't guarantee that you will receive the job. but you can apply for it. It's not an online job, I don't know anyones that are real out there unless you go into business for yourself. This would be a call center where I know a couple people used to do to make ends meet until they started in their own businesses. Your other option is to look into having a home based business in an industry that you like. I think a lot of "online jobs" are indeed "scams". I'm by no means an expert in the online job business, but I have done some research.

What I have found is a very large number of multi level marketing opportunities, if you want to call them that.

Multi level marketing is a hard area to make money in, unless you are very internet savvy.

I don't think there are any "honest online jobs using your computer" persay.

A lot of people create home buisnesses using their computers to generate most of their business online, but to have a "job" and get paid a regular paycheck like you would at a job in an office or something, is not realistic.

Maybe you should consider other ways to use your computer to earn money through a home business type setup.

For example, if you know and enjoy computer graphics, you could create a website about graphics, sharing information, tips and reviews of different graphic programs.

There are many ways to generate income from an "online business" rather than an "online job".

It takes motivation and hard work, but it is very doable.

Think about things you know about and are passionate about, then go from there.

This is what I am doing, and I am enjoying it tremendously.

It is easy to make some cash on ebay. Start by selling your own stuff. When you run out start looking at garage sales or ask your family if they have stuff they do not want.

I am a market research interviewer and I understand how answering questions like age, gender and salary can make you feel uncomfortable. We are actually not allowed to ask the question "what is your gender?" We answer that question ourselves by simply guessing your gender by the sound of your voice, it's considered rude to come out and ask that question. You are allowed to refuse to answer any questions, especially including age and salary. The age question isn't as bad because they are age RANGES, such as "Are you...18-25 years old, 26-35 years old...etc". The salary questions are ranges also, but the interviewer can still see whether you make a lot or not. Some surveys need your age range in order to qualify for the remainder of the survey, but you don't have to answer the questions if you don't want to and it will simply go down as a "REF" (refused) or "DK" (don't know).

You can always ask questions about their business - such as what their company's mission statement is, questions about their alliances and partnerships, and other questions that legitimate interviewers would be able to answer for you.
Reply:The truth is no one will call you without the basic intent of selling you something. If they are asking probing questions they are trying to identify your likelyhood as a SALE.

Identity theft is not how old you are it is your SSN, bank account information, passwords ETC.
Reply:I worked for a company that did phone surveys, probably 99.99% of phone surveys are legitimate. They ask age, gender, and salary so they can put your answers in the correct group to see if you are in their target market.

They only way I see if a someone doing a phone survey was trying to steal your personal info is if they ask for a credit card number, checking account info, or your social security number. I wouldn't worry otherwise, you have a lot more to worry about on the Internet then on your phone.

Issues with brickwork, pointing, poss. wall ties, soundness of floor in a couple of places, ancient electrics+plumbing(lead pipes)+central heating. Survey suggested getting a specialist survey for each and every problem. Thats going to be expensive surely? Could a builder not estimate the work needed? Both as a guide for me and to use in the renegotiation of my initial offer (I wish to do as much of the work as I can, or am allowed to do) Seeing as I'm offering top money for something that needs alot of modernising.

use a buliding inspector, Builders can give estemates and you are not required to hire them.
Reply:OK, your post seems to accept that you will probably have to replace the: Electrics, Plumbing, Heating.

Why waste money on a further report on those items?

A general builder should be able to sort out a price for the remainder, and he can certainly give you an idea on the labour for the rest... Don't forget to provide him with a copy of the report before you go to the house (together) to look it over.

Reply:Yes, a builder could give you an estimate, but it will just be an estimate, the actual cost could increase considerably.

The floor could just be snapped board or it could be woodworm - worst case scenario you'll need to replace the whole floor.

I would recommend getting the outside work seen to first - its cheaper to get builders in to do outside work in the summer!

You could be looking at re-plumbing and re-wiring which will be a total upheaval.

I think you should leave it all to the pro's - to much at stake!

Most surveys aren't worth the paper they are written on and will say what you want them to say for the sake of a quick sale. Get a reputable builder in (if the seller will allow, thats another issue) for an estimate.

Reply:Get yourself a good general contractor to look the place over. You say "nothing major" but it sounds to me like you won't know anything until you turnover some rocks . Then you may be in for some nasty surprises. Some of the things you mention could be very major.

A general contractor will be able to get a better picture.
Reply:Surveys asked for other surveys just to cover their backs. Yes take a general builder round for a walk through, if they cant help with plumbing/electrics etc you could try ringing round a few local tradesmen, and describe the property over the phone and ask for a ball park figure estimate.

There isn't enough information here to answer. Non-parametric tests should not be a goal, in and of itself. They are inherently less powerful than parametric tests, but less biased in the event assumptions substantially fail. Your survey should be constructed to test your hypothesis. The subsequent tests should be based on the nature of the data you were able to collect and need to be determined ex ante, not after you have the data in hand.

Your thought process should be:

What is my hypothesis and alternative hypothesis?

What type of data can I reasonably expect to collect?

Can I validate my collection mechanism?

Due to the nature of the question and the collection tools, what types of statistical tools will I need to use?

A lot of them are scams, so be really careful. A real market research survey company will never ever charge you a dime.

Do not give anyone your SSN there are lots of sites out there that are legit and they do not need this info from you. Nor do you have to pay to join. I am a member of several. I have done survey savy which has a great referral program if you know people who will join you get money for surveys they complete also. I have also tried American Consumer Opinion. They pay by check in mail for all surveys, but I have not been able to complete many of their surveys. Pinecone is also great. You have to have an invitation to join though. They send one or two surveys a month. They are great though cause you will have a few days or a week to answer the survey if you don't check your email religiously. Then they send a check in the mail pronto. Surveyspot has tons of really short surveys most of which you only get an entry into a drawing. However they do have many paid surveys also. You can just go to their site everyday and answer surveys you don't have to wait for them to be emailed to you. They do some previewing of tv commercials and tv shows. I have done a couple tv shows which involved watching an hour long program (45 minutes without commercials) and answering some questions about it - with payment of $20 so that was nice.

Most pay a few dollars per survey completed so it is best to use several. You also need to be a regular email checker because if you don't respond to the survey fast enough they have met their quota.

You are going to have to get into the habit of purchasing fonts or at least budgeting for them. Short of these two sites and a few typefaces offered through type designer's and foundries' sites there are few quality typefaces available for free (legally, anyway), and not all of them are that good at closer inspection, kerning is frequently poor, character sets incomplete etc.

I once participated in a focus group or consumer opinion survey for credit cards and was paid $100 for the 90 minutes I was with the group. I know there are online survey websites which pay you, but I would be more interested in going to a live, sit-down discussion, because I would rather speak my answers and get feedback, rather than type.

I actually enjoyed going on the survey (I was mailed an invitation), and it was easy extra money for basically just stating my opinion.

I live in the NJ/NY area, and would like to know if there is any company I can sign up with to get called for a survey on a more regular basis.

It was a seemingly random invitation, and I wanted to know if there is something I can do to be chosen more often.

I believe this website will help you in your endeavors. The video tutorials can help ease the process of entering into paid survey sites. They also have proof of payment pictures to show that these sites are not scams.

Reply:surveyspot pays but don't expect to quit your day job. the average survey only pays 4 dollars and you might get one 1 or 2 times a month if you qualify i.e age group sex whatever. it's something to do besides chat and look at porn but it won't even pay your isp bill.

i found it recently after doing research and seperating the scammers from the legit sites.

They actually even have TV commerials. They update your account in realtime, you just have to take surveys. They're quick and they tell you before hand how much each one is worth.

They also have a forum so you can definately talk to other members, so that you can get that nice ride you want. :)

I get paid a lot of money from this site. I was in the same boat as you where, looking for a legit site. I was laid off a few months ago with nothing but time, so I searched the web and found this site. I was able to build up quite a bit so far. Reply:1. WelI I actually take surveys for cash. And yes they do pay as long as you know the good ones. I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)

Reply:These kinds of sites are real. CashCrate, PaidSurveys and PiggyBuck are well known for having people fill out forms and actually paying people. The reason they are real is because they get lazy people to sign up to them who are not very smart. The way it works is that they go to normal companies that actually pay them to take surveys, but instead of taking the surveys themselves, they find (less than smart) people to do it for them and pay them less than half of what they get paid. One example of what I mean is cash crate pays people who have never signed up to ebay to sign up. They pay people like $4. Well what cashcrate doesnt tell them is that cashcrate signed up for ebays affiliate program (its at the bottom of the main ebay screen where it says "Affiliates" in small blue letters). Ebays affiliate program pays up to $35 if you recruit new members. Well there are many programs like that and just about anybody offering something for "free" has an affiliate program. They offer free sign up because they probably figure that they will make much more money from you in the long run because when you sign up you are consenting to their terms of agreement. Usually their terms of agreement involve the right to offer services. So when you fill out these surveys, your actually giving away your phone number, address, or other information that helps them solicit other products to you later down the line. In laymans terms, the survey companys that pay you to fill out surveys are getting paid by the companies who offer the surveys. They are not getting paid because you are filling out the survey, they are getting paid because you are giving personal information that allows them to contact you other times legally so they can sell you stuff over the phone or through emails or regular mail. Many of the companies claim they will not give out your personal information. Well in this case, they are trying to build up members so they can sell the entire website and company with members over to another bigger company who can then solicit the members directly through the website without the members even realizing that they are being solicited by someone else other than the company they originally signed up with. Websites with many members are worth alot to bigger technology companies or even scammers who have lots of money from scamming people over the years. Another scam many of them use is the "threshold" scam. This is where it says in very small letters in the terms of service that you must make a certain amount of money before they actually have to pay what is in your account. Many websites will get you to fill out tons and tons of surveys but then they never pay you because you do not make enough to qualify for a check to be sent out. The most I have ever seen on these kind of surveys is the ebay sign up and thats $4 through cashcrate. Most surveys only pay .50 cents. I would much rather cut out the survey company and go straight to ebay or the other site and sign up so I can get the real money instead of just what the survey company decides to share with me.You would be better off finding decent affiliate products through clickbank or commissionjunction and then learning how to promote them with guides like richkits or any advice on affiliate forums such as namepros(they are the most well known forum that includes affiliate advice). Many of the companies that go through sites like that will pay you to promote their products on the internet and some of them only require you to get people to sign up for fill out forms, so its kind of like you are cutting the middle man out (which would be the survey companies).That is the only real way to make money on the internet without selling your own products. Filling out surveys will make you on average about $5 an hour and you would have to use a fake email, fake telephone, and fake address, but then they might not pay you because they can say that you supplied fake information if they find out and since they are paying you that could be considered fraud. Either way I think filling out surveys is not a good idea. Substitute teachers are not exactly the brightest either, thats why they are substitutes. Some of them may just be starting out with teaching and gaining experience and I dont blame em, and many may just do it for fun and are retired. But majority of them I think are teachers who just arent smart enough to get a normal job so they arent really in any position to be giving life advice to other people.

Reply:Yes, but you just have to find the actual survey sites and not the sites that connect you with them. When you use those connection type sites, they send you a lot of junk and who knows who they sell your email address to. You aren't going to get rich or anything but you can make a little money and also earn credit toward certain items offered by the survey companies. I personally do surveys at surveyspot, which is my favorite. You won't get paid for every survey you take. Also, you won't qualify for every servey they send. I just do them in spare time and have made maybe $200 in total over 6 months. The other survey site that I like is eRewards. I'm sure there are many more good sites but I am not aware of them yet.

I've tried a few of the sites that other answerers mentioned, and I was pretty disappointed because it took forever for the money to add up, and in 2 different situations I was never even paid for the time I spent.

That being said, right now my sole income is from the internet. There definitely are some legitimate ways to earn money online pretty easily, but you should never sign up for anything that #1 you don't know a great deal amount and #2 requires you to "spend money to make money."

Not only that, but it is kind of like Russian Roulette as far as your pay is concerned. I don't want to sound nasty but those survey sites could care less about your opinions. They are buying your email address and other personal information for marketing purposes. If you don't believe me, just wait until you see all of the spam mail you get by postal service and email. The people who make the money are those who refer others to sign up and spread the word. Businesses are not in the habit of giving away money for obvious reasons so they are profiting from people who sign up for things and never cancel. It could be profitable to make money this route but you'll aggreivate alot of your family, friends, and coworkers in the process. Surely you can use your time and energy in better ways ... like your own business. If you are really involved with the survey arena, get a good calendar and make sure to keep track of all "offers" and cancellation dates. There are alot of people who end up wasting more money than they "earn."

I can't remember any more right now, but never sign up for any site that requires a paid membership to get access to a database or anything similar. The legit ones don't charge you a single cent. I receommend you try to find the site's for the actual market research agencies through google instead of "get paid to take surveys" and see if they have a paid survey service. That way you are going right to the company. Global test market is like that.

It is never easy to earn money from the internet. Patient, determination, consistency, and lots of learning are the key. I've started learning this for the last 3 months and I'm quite confident that it can be big in the future.

I always see things like work from home ads or paid surveys but you have to pay for them. Is there another way to earn an extra income without having to pay and if not which are the best ones that wont try to scam me.

I am a consumer advocate and write about things such as scams. I have an article that explains what you need to know to avoid survey scams and what you need to do to get paid (in case there is a record-keeping or other problem with the company.)

PandaRearch.com for instance owes me $150+ and I'm far from alone in being victimized from this scam.

I don't recommend paid surveys as a way to make much money --there are only two I trust with impeccable records, those two listed below. But I am not pushing them on you ... Been a member of UGov for three years and regularly did surveys, but now am close to the magic £50 when they pay you for doing the surveys, havent had one to do for ages!

I know there are aot, I have been to some that give money via paypal. I like those the most, but I haven't found any that give a significant amont of cash for serveys does anyone know of any? And also no sign up cost

Reply:I've done surveys for a long time and I created a whole blog about free surveys. I posted tutorial videos, proof of payment (checks), legit survey sites, and contact info if you want more guidance or have questions.

They require your time for nothing. It makes no financial sense and is a joke. For someone to earn 35 bucks, it can take up to a month of waisted time.
Reply:Usually they charge you somewhere in the $40 US range to send you a list of companies you can do surveys for. Almost none of them pay you cash for your time, most offer points towards crap you can never use. You have to fill out a profile with each individual company, then when the surveys come in, most of the time they say you do not meet the requirements they are looking for with this survey. You cannot earn a living at it, and I don't believe you can even supplement your income or earn any extra cash. I think it's a ridiculous way for them to legally steal your hard-earned money.

If you are serious about earning extra cash, you should consider a home business. I have one that cost $35 to join, plus one case of product. That one case of product was the best purchase I ever made in my life because of what it did for my health.

I just tell people my story of what it did for me and my family, and they order it because they know I am sincere about this. My business grows absolutely every day and I have full training, tools and a free website to go with it.
Reply:I've only had one bad experience: I signed up with Panda Research, and they don't really want you to take surveys, they want you to sign up for offers (and take a little survey about the offer). You pay for some of those offers, so it's really a rip-off.

I've had good experiences with the other survey sites I've taken part in, though. If you are looking for a LITTLE exta spending money (don't believe anyone who tells you you can make an income off of this), and if you like giving your oppinion on stuff, I would definatley recommend doing this.

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.
